There is something about promises, when you make them you have to fulfill it, if you are the type that do not like breaking promises. it is always like a countdown to the said time you promise has to be fulfilled.

About a year ago, I made a promise to a friend in which presently I have just 24hours left to fulfill the promise, and truth is I had a whole year to prepare myself for what would happen in the next 24hours but yet it took me to the last 24 hours to prepare for it.

Truth is I did not forget my promise, and always kept it in mind but I did not give it much priority and thought I can prepare at any time. Let me stop beating about the bush; the promise that I made is being present in a program that my friend would be hosting tomorrow, aside being present in the program, I would be ministering with my guitar.

You must be thinking why it took me still this time to prepare. Truth is I have no excuse to why I have not prepared for the program tomorrow. If i was to give a reason, I would say I got really busy with school and never had the thought to prepare but it's practically a lie because I had all the time in the world yet but I misused it.

The good thing is, I always kept my promise in mind by leaving the last 24 hours of the day to practice because I feel it is more than enough for me to prepare for the program. Though it is quite late but yet I believe in my capabilities.

SO WHAT ARE THE POINTS TO DRAW HERE?

• What ever you fail doing was never something you made your priority.

Even though I made it a promise, I failed to find time to rehearse for a whole year. this means I never gave it a priority but because I know that when one doesn't plan to succeed, then he plans to fail, I chose to use the remaining last hours to prepare.

• Knowing Your Abilities

If we know our abilities, we would definitely know the amount of time we need to practice and master what ever we need to learn. Taking this scenario to an educational sector, someone who doesn't know his ability and how fast his assimilates decides to wait still exams before reading, he/she is likely to fail.

This is why when making plans, we need to know our abilities first.
