On a new year's eve like this (in a religious country like Nigeria), most of the people spend the few hours in their religious homes (churches or mosques).

En una víspera de año nuevo como esta (en un país religioso como Nigeria), la mayoría de la gente pasa las pocas horas en sus hogares religiosos (iglesias o mezquitas).

I being from a Christian home is on his way to church with the family but as always on every new year, there is always hectic traffic when going to church. I only hope at this moment that it won't be as hectic as previous years.

The government here in Nigeria has given a curfew at 11pm that no one should be out that time and churches should close services by that time.

El gobierno aquí en Nigeria ha dado un toque de queda a las 11 de la noche para que nadie debería salir esa vez y las iglesias deberían cerrar los servicios en ese momento.

I see this as an impossible order especially in my state where people are overpopulated. We are about 14 million and the state is one of the smallest state in the country when talking about landmass.

Veo esto como un orden imposible, especialmente en mi estado donde la gente está superpoblada. Somos unos 14 millones y el estado es uno de los estados más pequeños del país cuando se habla de masa terrestre.

As I am writing, I fear this traffic would be tougher than I thought it to be. Reason is because the pedestrians passing by are sayinh it is totally blocked in front and we may be on this same spot still 1am. Meaning I might see my new year in the traffic.

Mientras escribo, me temo que este tráfico sería más duro de lo que pensé. La razón es porque los peatones que pasan por éso dicen que está totalmente bloqueado en frente y podemos estar en este mismo lugar todavía a la 1 de la mañana. Lo que significa que podría ver mi nuevo año en el tráfico.
