My Hive story is something I have spoken and written about so many times on hive that even almost everyone knows about. That's one of the reasons why I hesitated in writing this post, but I thought again; why not write about it once more since it's not in the same context. Moreover, I could help motivate others to take hive seriously than just seeing it for only short term purposes.

HOW LONG HAVE YOU BEEN ON THE BLOCKCHAIN

I have been on the blockchain since June 2018. So it makes it 3 years that I have been here but if we are to say for how long have I been active here, I would say 2 years because I ghosted the community in the year 2019 and later came back early last year in 2020.

WHAT WAS YOUR BACKGROUND IN CRYPTOCURRENCY WHEN YOU FIRST CAME TO THE BLOCKCHAIN

I had no background. I owned not a single bitcoin. Yeah I heard of it but wasn't interested. I didn't even believe in making money online but all of that changed when I chose to make the bold step and take the risk by trying something new.

WHAT WAS YOUR BACKGROUND IN WRITING WHEN YOU FIRST CAME TO THE BLOCKCHAIN

I had a little background in writing but I only learnt it for an exam and never for the fun of it. I never though it would be something that would feed me.

Truth is, I hated writing but coming to this blockchain, I had to create an habit to write and read often.

HOW MANY PEOPLE DID YOU KNOW WHEN YOU FIRST CAME TO THE BLOCKCHAIN

When I first came to the blockchain, I knew only @k-banti. He was the one that invited me to the community and also a group of friends.

HOW DID YOU MEET PEOPLE WHEN YOU FIRST CAME TO THE BLOCKCHAIN

Hmm.. I went around engaging with others, commenting on posts and partaking in challenges and contests like this. They are the best ways to get to meet people when you go about the contest tag, read their entries and then share your views.

WHO DID I LOOK UP TO WHEN I FIRST GOT TO THE BLOCKCHAIN

That would be @josediccus.. He is who I look up to and still looking up to. I met him on the chain and he has grown to be more than just a friend but a brother.

The more reasons why I kept moving and struggling was because of him. I looked up to him and told myself that if josediccus can get to this point then I can.

HOW WOULD YOU DESCRIBE YOUR FIRST 3 MONTHS IN THE BLOCKCHAIN

Brutal!!!... I literally earned nothing in my first 3 months. They were all 0. even my introductory post was 0. something.

HAS BEING A PART OF THE BLOCKCHAIN CHANGED YOU IN ANYWAY

Absolutely, it has changed my whole life. It has made life less of a struggle for me. It has paid for my tuition fees, my needs and wants, fed me, and even help support my friends and family.

WHAT'S YOUR FAVOURITE MEMORY FROM YOUR TIME ON THE BLOCKCHAIN

I had a lot of memories but my most favourite was truly when @tripode was very active on hive and we worked on making initiatives and contests to support others Hivers.

She's not active again due to her master's program. Hope she returns when she is done. I miss her a lot.

IF YOU COULD GIVE ADVICE TO A NEW PERSON SIGNING UP TO HIVE, WHAT WOULD IT BE?

Don't give up! I know how frustrating it can be when you are just starting out. What you just need to do is make friends by engaging with people very often, partake in contests and challenges, and lastly do your best to contribute to the growth of others. It always works, just as the famous quote says: We rise by lifting others.
