I have not watched the original Viking series but I just thought to give this a try since it is just 8 episodes and it is still in its first season. I was able to finish watching this series in three days that because I watched 3 episodes each day. Something about me is if I sit long hours watching a movie, I get headaches

But I can tell you, if you want to finish each season in a day then you can. Each episode is not more than 48 minutes, and it would be most enjoyable watching it on Netflix. I prefer Netflix more because of its quality and subtitles included.

PLOT OF THE MOVIE

The Vikings Valhalla may be seen as a sequel to the normal Vikings but this story talks about 100 years after the story of the Vikings you know. The movie talks majorly about the disagreement or let me say War between Christians and Pagans.

The Story started as the Vikings lives at the shores of England called "Danelaw" where the Vikings lived with their people. Their settlement increased and became to be seen as a threat to their neighbors; The Saxon People. To solve this problem the King had to make an unhealthy decision which was to order the elimination of all Viking in the land.

This mass murder caused the gathering of all Vikings from different regions to plan a revenge and to take over London. The gathering was led by the King of Denmark; King Canute who was sided by the Prince of Norway, Prince Harald Sirgurdsson.

We also have the Greenlanders who are not Vikings but seeks for revenge as well. They do not seek for the same revenge as that of the Vikings but seek a revenge of a Christian Viking. The Christian Viking had attacked one of the Greenlander's home, and raped her while she was still little and called her unholy for not believing in the Christian ways.

Freydis Eriksdotter, the Greenlander who had been rapped seeks revenge with her other Greenlanders friends by journeying to Kattegat, where the Vikings gathered. At Kattegat, she met the young prince of Norway, Prince Herald, who seemed to gain interest in her the moment he saw her. If I am to say, He liked her the moment he saw her.

Not to leave too much spoilers let me end my description here, the movie talks about how Vikings plots their revenge and wage war against England and their defenses. It talks about how Kings and Queens seek for power or retain power.

MAIN CHARACTERS OF THE MOVIE

In this section I would present you some characters of the movie which helps makes the season complete for without them, I don't know what I would say of the movie. Also I would say a little I know about their character in the movie and surely, would leave their real names down.

Leif Eriksson (Sam Corlett) is the son of Erik the Red who founded the Norse settlement in Greenland. Leif is tasked to live beyond the name of his father as he is known always as someone's son since his father was most feared and a great man.

Leif is an intelligent young man, very good on combat and also in captaining ships. This was shown in the starting on the movie where he captained his ship over great ocean tides that killed thousands of men yet, only members of his ship survived.

He is tasked to fight for the Vikings to save his sister, which during this journey, he was able to make a name for himself which erased the notion of Leif being the son of a great man but a great man he is himself.

The Glory which he so much was looking for, he found it. Do watch the movie to know how this was possible.

I so much like this character because of his qualities. He is a leader, very coordinated and observant. One of reasons why I most especially like him is because he is badass in combat. All every warrior I have seen in this movie, none fights like him or should I say, better than him.

In the movie you would see him take on more than 4 men harmless and yet still wins the combat.

Freydis Eriksson (Frida Gustavsson) is the sister to Leif Eriksson who journeys to Kattegan with her brother and other greenlanders to seek revenge. While arriving at Kattegat, series of events happened and now she seeks to find her destiny.

Freydis is strong pagan and seeks to defend her beliefs from Christians who are trying to wipe out pagan community and gatherings if they don't accept to be converted.

Emma of Normandy (Laura Berlin) is my second favourite character after Leif. She is smart, and calculative. In the movie, she acted as the Queen of England and wife to Aethelred II.

I like her position in the movie and the way she acted very intelligently. Let us just say I love the character. She does all possible best to defend England and retain her power as the Queen of England.

Harald Sigurdsson (Leo Suter), who is the Young prince of Norway, falls in love with Freydis and makes promise to build a balance or a world where Pagans and Christians would live in Peace.

He seeks revenge for the death of his brother, the incident from the King's orders, and now seeks to claim the head of the king. Would he finally get the revenge he seeks? I don't know, go watch the movie to know yourself.

Olaf le Saint, the step-brother of Prince Herald, and former Advisor of the King, Aethelred II is madly driven to clear the land of pagans and converting all souls into the Christian ways.

It is easy to know his love for power and Gold most especially and being someone not to be trusted. He is Invited by the King of Denmark, Canute, to help devise a plan to invade England and take their revenge on England.

OTHER CHARACTERS IN THE MOVIE

Let me stop here for now, there are other characters that should be mentioned that made this movie so interesting. We have Jarl Haakson who is the woman who rules Kattegat and allows people from all regions no matter Pagan or Christian to come together and live as one in harmony.

We have the King Canute himself, who seeks revenge and tries to take over England. Another favorite character is Earl Godwin who is a survivor. He doesn't directly seek for power but puts himself in a position where would be of advantage to him. He is a man of service and advisory, for that he would serve his main purpose.

THOUGHTS ABOUT THE MOVIE

the movie is a very technical movie in which I suggest every intelligent and smart person to watch. So Beware, If you are not intelligent or Smart, do not watch this movie ⚠⚠🛑‼❌❌❌. 😂😂😂😂😂😂 Okay, I am just joking, anybody can watch the movie. You know how war movies are like, the way they plan for war, send spies, and think out of the box to win a war; that's what makes it interesting; post especially how they are hungry for power.
