THE LIFE OF AN ELEVATOR ENGINEER
I am not here to explain the stuff in my work but to say how the day went today.
Like everyday, I sleep by 11-12pm and wake up by 4am which what I do at that time is to curate some posts, comment and check out more on people. I have been doing this routine for some months now..
Coming to work, my plan today was to visit 5 sites (places) where I would be performing maintenance services but two of the sites we called said it was relatively too early for a maintenance service but truth is it isn't as this is December and most offices would be closing this Friday. I would not be happy to receive a call my December 23 or possibly on the 25th to come check on their elevator, I would be so pissed.
Moreover for jobs like this, I am not alone as I have my partner and boss who we go out together on jobs like this. Today, we weren't taking a private car so we went out with the commercial vehicle.
The first site we visited for maintenance is located in Alausa Ikeja Lagos. It's pretty far from where I live as it took me about 3hrs to get there.
While working on this elevator above, I used the opportunity to take this snapshots above. As they say, all work and no play makes jack a dull boy.
The second site was at Adeniyi Jones. I didn't take any pictures there, as I was not the one who did Maintenance on that lift moreover it skipped my mind.
While the last place I visited was an hospital which is quite far away, it took me about an hour plus to get there from ikeja.
In the picture above, you will see there was little traffic on the way. That's was what made the journey over an hour.
This picture was taken while I was performing maintenance in the hospital elevator. Just to point, my work is stressful but there is a little fun in it as well. Thanks for reading through.
