WHAT LANGUAGES DO YOU SPEAK || DAY 14 OF 30 DAYS BLOGGING CHALLENGE

Understanding a language is a important skill in communication today and has helped various people in where they find themselves.

Today's topic of the blogging challenge ask of a direct question: What language do I speak? but for the sake of having a quality publication, I would go further into sharing the important of the language I speak and why.

It is very obvious that English language is one of the languages I communicate with as it has been the language I have been using to write my publications from my day 1 in this blockchain. This language is not my mother/native language but it had been what I have been using for communication since I was born.

I am from Nigeria, a country with over 520 languages and about 300 tribes. Out of all these tribes and languages, I come from the Yoruba tribe which is one of the main tribe in the country. I speak Yoruba language as well but not as fluent as I communicate in English language.

For about two months now, I have been taking classes in duolingo and been learning the Spanish language. I had pretty gone quite deep in the language that I can speak little and make short sentences but I must say it hasn't been easy experiencing and coming in contact with different words. Most times, it feels my head is about to blow out all the different words stored so I try to keep myself together by memorizing and repeating previously passed lessons.

IMPORTANCE OF UNDERSTANDING ENGLISH

Everybody has their reasons for choosing to understand a language but asides from the fact that English was introduced to me from the earliest stage of my life, which means I had no other choice than to learn it, I would still share why I feel it is important to learn English language.

1. One of the most spoken language in the world: This is no doubt true that English is the one of the most spoken language in the world if not the number one of all. So this means we get the chance to be able to communicate with someone who might not just understand our own language.

2. Increases your Chances of Employment: Most companies especially business, industrialized and tech companies are interested in employing people who have a great skill in communicating in English because English is seen as a business language. Since it is widely spoken by many people who have a different native language background shows the reason why it is best for communicating in business terms.

IMPORTANCE OF UNDERSTANDING YORUBA LANGUAGE

When I said earlier that I would write the importance of the language I speak, I didn't exclude my native language. Though I don't have much to say since it is not an international spoken language though, some individuals in the USA learn the language to sing songs written in the languages but the more reason why it is important is:

1. A MAJOR ETHNIC GROUP IN NIGERIA: There are a lot of people who understand the Yorba language in Nigeria, so if you choose to travel here you will likely see someone to speak it to.

2. EASY TO LEARN AND UNDERSTAND: I have to say that yoruba language is one of the most easiest language to understand though it has some little difficulty in some aspects but something you can understand in months of practice. So if you are thinking of adding up another language skill, you can feel free to pick up the language.

IMPORTANCE OF UNDERSTANDING SPANISH

It's necessary to speak about this language because I chose to learn it. One of the reasons why I chose to learn the language is because I have friends on Hive who speaks the language but there are actually more reasons to learn it.

1. It is spoken official in about 20 countries: Before learning the language, I was surprised at the large number of Spanish authors on hive which made me search about countries that speak this language. The moment I saw there are 20 countries speaking the language, it gave me the idea that understanding this language can make me easily visit any of those countries without having to worry about communication problem.

2. Leads to Understanding other languages: From relating and discussing with my Spanish friends, I got informed that knowing/Understanding Spanish will many one easily get to understand other languages like Portuguese, Italian, and French itself. Imagine learning one language that gives you passage to understand 3 more. I see this as a buy one packet and get 3 packet extra free.
